Conflict diamond is also known as “blood diamond”. It refers to diamonds sold or traded illegally, eg. those finance terrorism or other violent acts. In the broader definition, it also refers to diamonds which harm the environment and human rights. As those trading activities result in conflicts globally, there is a series of policy implemented to prevent the trade of illegal diamonds.
